GENERAL INFORMATION. This boat is in Bristol condition and has been treated with tender loving care throughout her lifetime. It is pictured on the East Coast Potter Association web site under the name "Hooked." I bought it in 2000 from the original owner and changed the name to "Encore." Washed after every sail, hand rubbed and waxed twice yearly. Sailed mostly in fresh water. Never moored or kept in a slip. Stored on trailer under UV resistant tarps or in garage. Gelcoat still shines glossy. No cracks or stress fractures. Loaded with custom improvements. All accessories less than 3 years old. SOLD For Sale: 1980 P-14 in New Mexico
We are in the midst of a drought here in NM. The lake where I usually sail is so low it's not worth the trip. I have owned this boat for five years. It has been parked in my side yard in Albuquerque for the last two years under a tarp. This year promises to be more of the same so I guess I will sell so someone will get some use. The boat has a Dilley trailer with new tires last summer - lights all work. The boat has vinyl cockpit and cabin cushions, steel cockpit rails and steel bow pulpit. There is a new blue Bimini cover. There is an anchor, boat hook, paddle, ladder, etc. The boat came with main, jib and genoa - all in good shape. There is a Nissan outboard that needs a tune up and there is one spot on the hull that needs some gelcoat work, otherwise it is in great shape - a classic. I paid $2,000 five years ago and will sell for less than that.

Trade a Potter for a WindRider 16?
Might there be a Potter owner who would like to trade a Potter for a small trimaran that sails really fast? I own an almost new WindRider 16 trimaran with trailer and wish to trade for either a 15 or 19 foot Potter, with a preference for the 19. My trimaran is very easy for one person to rig and launch. The only rigging on the boat is the mainsheet and boom vang. The steering is done with foot pedals, though tiller extensions can be added so steering can be done while sitting on either trampoline (which are small but roomy enough for one person). The boat has a motor mount which accepts an electric motor only; there is a battery tray aft of the seat. To get an idea of what the sailing experience is like, imagine a large, deep kayak with two outriggers and tramps, a very comfortable, stable, fast ride. Included are two skirts, one small and one large (with suspenders) to help keep the spray and waves out of the cockpit. I do enjoy the boat very much, but am ready to try another style of sailing. 8hp Mariner Outboard 2 cycle less than 10 hours
This motor was bought 6 years ago. I used it 4 times the first year. It has been garaged ever since. I was hurt and unable to use it. 975.00 for this pristine motor. New price on the mercury 8hp is 1999.00 save yourself some money and buy a motor that is not even broke in.
